APS Group is a company dedicated to the manufacture and supply of print and logistical services to blue-chip organisations operating throughout the UK.
The Managing Director has overall responsibility for APS’s environmental performance and, committed to a programme of continual improvement, has empowered an environmental management project team that meets on a monthly basis to:
- Implement the environmental policy and oversee its relevance to the needs of the business.
- Ensure effective maintenance of the company’s environmental management system.
- Set objectives and targets that are measured and designed to achieve continuous improvement across all levels of the business.
- Communicate and raise awareness of all environmental issues to both internal and external audiences.
The company’s environmental management system is an integral part of APS’s business operation and is not viewed as a series of one-off initiatives, but as a core value that is embedded within the organisation and which focuses on:
- Adherence to all environmental legislation and local regulations.
- The reduction of harmful emissions and the prevention of pollution.
- Waste management processes that promote the reuse and recycling of materials.
- Disposing of all hazardous chemicals in a safe manner.
- Limiting the use of electricity and gas supplies and eliminating any wastage, in order to reduce energy consumption.
